this show is fine. i think if i didn’t have high expectations i would’ve loved it. but i was truly expecting some mind-bending life changing shit and it simply wasn’t that. i wanted to love this show but i didn’t. i’ll still watch season 2 but i’m not obsessed at all. i don’t know who decided to edit the team being stranded back to back with them as adults but it was a terrible writing and editing decision. there’s literally no suspense in life or death scenarios because i know what characters are going to die and live based off the present storyline. it would be kinda worth it if the present storyline was good but it’s not even good i was soooo bored and wanted to get back to the stranded/past storyline. i’m sorry but are we gonna pretend the present storyline wasn’t giving a darker version of PLL. like misty is literally just mona vanderwal. christina ricci is the only ACTOR in this show. a plot this interesting had no right to have me this bored. the idea of a team of small town popular straight A girlies being stranded and forced to resort to cannibalism in desperation could’ve been so good. with GOOD writers it could’ve really made the audience question themes surrounding morality especially in dire situations like this. the girls relying on their animalistic urges and questioning what even makes them human without a society and laws. it could’ve been saurrrr good omg but they decide to use basic highschool teen show degrassi esque plot and tropes, but in the woods? i truly do not understand. maybe it’s my fault for expecting more idk
