a good follow up to the pilot. the family dynamics are insanely good so far, with the one of the best scenes of the episode being the beginning of the episode when the whole family is eating breakfast. we see how each character interacts with one another and how each one continues to cope with nathaniel's death. the best shot of the episode is when david imagines his father is talking to him at the doorstep, and he is clearly angry at his father, when all of a sudden nathaniel disappears and nate walks in. david's anger shifts towards nate due to the similarities between the two (the prodigal son). making nate inherit 50% of the company was a brilliant idea because it's creating some interesting interactions between the family watching both this show and the shield at the same time makes for some nice parallels between david and julien, who are both struggling with acceptance of who they are. david acts almost as if he believes that if all of a sudden he's straight again his father will rise from the grave and give him full control of the company. his pure denial of the fact that his father could have suspected he was gay is evidence of this. like we know he gets together with rita but for now he's gay mid 4/5, a solid follow up to the high expectations created by the pilot
