i’m thinking that the mum were shown is not his biological mum but his biological mum’s sister/friend and that his actual mum died when he was young or something… there has to be a reason for him not accepting medicine and his “rejection” of (more so lack of response to) haewon’s confession. maybe his mum got sick? he’s obviously scared to give his heart to people (like he said at the end) so maybe he’s afraid to accept haewon’s feelings and progress in their relationship because of the possibility of losing her, like he’s lost others
