Honestly I’m gonna have to write a thorough review later because there is so much to discuss about this show. From the history of the exploitation and racism that Chinese immigrants faced, to the political turmoil of the local government in California dealing with the clashes between the Irish and Chinese immigrants, this show PACKED A PUNCH. I cannot even begin to tell you how much this series means to me as a 1st generation Nigerian American, and how the issues of racism, border imperialism, and xenophobia are an everyday experience for many BIPOC communities in this country. The fact that this show is so slept on, and I was only able to find it in PASSING is wild to me. Why isn’t this on the same level of popularity as Game of thrones/House of the dragon, Breaking bad, and The Boys? It needs so many awards that I feel are 1000% deserved.
