I'd say this thriller drama series would satisfy everyone and have a solid content to EXPOSE! Again, Korean film makers have given one of the best works to us with a fresh concept. Should say, the main plot itself was intriguing and makes the audience curious for further episodes. The plot of this series is pretty simple. Men joins army to serve for the counry for atleast 2 years in their life. Somehow, there are men deserting the army i.e. escaping from doing their service or running away from the army to hide etc. So they recruit 2 persons as a team, and they would assign the person , who have deserted the army, to bring that person back to the army. Through this we, as an audience, get to know what merciless things happening inside the army for them to desert. Interesting right? Of course, it sets up all the possible curiosity and excitement for the audience , who generally loves this kindof genres. Okay lets get into the technical aspects. I really loved the cinematography of the series. Especially the DI team. During the army time, it's rustic and raw. When they step into the city to catch the deserters, the visuals are dreamy and atmospheric as well. The lighting and DI team have done a great job. Production and set works of the army base locations were just authentic. Appreciating for those accuracies. Background scores, especially during the last episode of 2nd season was just hitting hard. Editing was good. Nothing to brag about it. Season 1 : I feel the world building things were taken care perfectly in season 1. Especially, I should say this series would not be a protagonists' series. I feel many characters were written so good, so that I feel all the characters have a weightage in this series. Should say all the cases which been handled in Season 1 was great and screenplay of each episodes were satisfying and interesting. I can say 3rd epsiode of the season 1 was less interesting but that doesn't mean it's not good at all. It's good but could have been better. But character development of each deserters were good. I loved 2nd, 5th and 6th episode of the season 1. 5th and 6th episodes were peak for the season 1. Season 2 : Should say, more raw and rustic, begins slowly then 2nd picks up with a banggg! Of course, the 1st episode was the after effects of the 1st season. But it ends with a sensitive incident. With highly intensive 2nd episode, the series just explodes in the rest of the series. It's just that it doesn't rest. I loved especially the 2nd 5th and 6th episodes again. Those were just the peaks of this season. Even I'd say 4th were also interesting and there were great moments in it. I loved 4th as well. 3rd would be different and it directly hits our heart. It might make us cry or even make us low for few moments, just continue with next episode to change our thoughts. Atleast those unsettling things would fade away. I'd say 3rd episode is one of the depressing episodes in the entire series. It was hard hitting for me. And the last 2 eps!!! Woahh, just filled with tears and rage inside of us. The courtroom scenes were less but it was just lit. Should say, I loved 2 of the character duos. Loved Jun Ho and Ho hyeol, of course, they are the first main leads. They had a good rapo and sometimes their inner feelings been understood by the audience. It was neatly written and showcased. I especially loved Koo Kyo-hwan as Ho hyeol. He was just natural and humorous enough as he was the only one who gives some relaxation in due course of this raw, rugged, serious natured series. And I loved Jung Hae In as An Jun Ho. He was subtle yet terrific. His expressions were on spot and his minute expressions shine him in every episode. Deep inside his ruggedness, he has a soft guy at times that guy is been awakened by Han Ho yeol. The duo was actually good and nicely done by both. Unexpected duo was Son Suk ku as Ji-Seop and Kim Sung Kyun as Beom-Gu. Actually I'd say these both combo was a highlight and Unexpected one. I didn't know these both would form as a team and would deal the cases. Loved their combinations. Always astonishing and impressed to the writing of these kindof duos. I feel they have built a perfect arc and situations for both which didn't feel rushed or artificial of both uniting as one. Kudos to the writing. Bonus : For me, Season 2 was more interesting than Season 1. But season 1 has the seasoning for the season 2's rage. Okay is this THE GREAT SERIES? I'd say, all would atleast feel this series would definitely be a great watchable because of its story and screenplay. But I'd not say it's the best. Because some episodes would feel It was just to say about what cruel things happening in the army base and they might lack interesting aspects. Those who watches this series for the suspense or investigation aspect, they might go slightly disappointed but not fully because of the story and screenplay. Overall- It's one of the best crime thriller series that I'd recommend to all. This might lag during the first season that at the middle. But from the 1st season last 2 eps till 2nd season end I'm sure y'all will have a good time, of course!
