When I think back to S1, the tone, the atmosphere, the overarching plot of Laura and Bob etc I could easily give 4.5* even tho I have the season at 4* in retrospect I liked S1 much more than I thought. And maybe that’s because I didn’t jive with the return and a large portion of S2 that it makes me remember S1 as better than it was but I really did love my time with the first season. The story, that final haunting scene and all the meaning behind it, the concept of Bob, the black lodge and the doppelgängers that emerge from it, Cooper there’s so many things I enjoy but it did get to a point where having to remember every little detail and tiny pieces of dialogue from episodes and episodes ago was too much to handle without explanation after explanation and I don’t want to watch TV like that. Twin Peaks is a very unique brand of television that I can’t think of anything like it nor do I think there will be anything like it. But overall I just didn’t have anywhere near as much enjoyment with said brand of TV as I have with other TV despite wishing I did. I do believe this is solely attributed to S3 and the fact I hadn’t seen FWWM before it as I read you didn’t need to but it felt like that wasn’t the case. Overall I am glad I’ve watched it and I did enjoy my time with it for the most part it’s just not entirely my type of thing.
