I much prefer this episode out of the two that premiered, because it easily makes The Bride become the best character in the entire show so far. Idina Verma breathes a lot of life into this character, and the backstory of her creation was surprisingly uncomfortable. But that brawl with The Bride and Circe was the coolest thing this show has ever shown! The battle between “brute strength” and “magic” was brutally intense and well-animated, and even the decades montage with both Frankenstein’s monsters was very creative. I’m very fascinated by this portrayal of Eric Frankenstein, because he’s morally different from his iteration in the Agent of S.H.A.D.E. comics. David Harbour did a phenomenal job with his voice acting, but this version of Frankenstein is off-putting, and I love that. Also, I’m calling it now… Princess Ilana is a secret Nazi. She has blonde hair and blue eyes, and seems to be very dominating at times. If she isn’t, then that’s honestly a surprise. Overall, these two episodes gave a good impression of how unique Gunn’s universe will be, but already it’s way more fun and interesting than whatever the DCEU was trying to do. Can’t wait to see the rest of the show!
