OH MY GOODNESS. What a FUN and exciting beginning! Despite everyone being concerned about the suburbia, it looks really cool! The infrastructure and interior design is reminiscent of the Star Cruiser and Coruscant cleanliness. There’s clearly something fishy going on there, too! Plus a healthy does of hinted indoctrination to pick your brain about the little At Attin scenario. And really all the sets look super nice; plenty of color and feel that some of the other shows are lacking. Some very clear locations shooting and environmental work. The kids are all great actors. They have a great on-screen chemistry and the occasionally more awkward dialogue really sells their age - middle schoolers, around 12 or 13. Fern and KB are in fact very cool, but I don’t think the tough act - especially for Fern - will last. Everyone gets ample time to explain their family situations and what sets them apart. Neel’s big happy family is really cute. Wim’s single dad dynamic is a weakness for me. Fern doesn’t get along with her mother, but she does her grandpa. And KB kinda floats. But I’m sure we’ll get more of her as we go along. Love the main theme during the credits. Mick, I am so excited to see what you’ve cooked up.
