Such a provocative story with out of this world meta commentary on representation, specifically with the Asian community. The use of the crime drama genre, a genre that all too often typecasts marginalized communities, to highlight these stereotypes is so fascinating to watch unfold and very effective to tell this story. They even pay homage to Bruce and Brandon Lee in this show, which I love. Even reminiscent of Everything Everywhere All At Once. What kind of people could we become if we weren’t confined to the roles this society has forced us to play. Great performances from Jimmy O Yang and Ronny Chieng and Chloe Bennet. The ending left me unsatisfied in satisfying way. A powerful but practical ending. Such a pleasant surprise! If you want a show with substance that’s equally entertaining, tune in (pun intended :))
