Very high 4.5, a very Elena focused episode, which I loved. The opening scene with the wedding and the after party was so beautiful, I loved seeing how proud Elena’s parents looked. Elena grows so much in this episode, becoming a mother. Seeing her struggle with motherhood was so frustrating, especially with Pietro being useless. He annoyed me this episode I can’t lie. The best parts of the episode were to due with Elena’s writing, however. Seeing her struggle with writers block was all too relatable, such a frustrating experience. Then she takes inspiration from her childhood, and especially Lila, which doesn’t pay off like it did the last time. She faces hefty criticism from her Mother in Law, which was crazy. She really didn’t hold back 😭 This leads to the best scene of the episode, Elena’s phone call with Lila, which was so sad… To work so hard on something only for two people who’s opinions you value so much to absolutely slate it is so heartbreaking. “Nothing of what I read resembles you.” “Who am I if you’re not any good?” These quotes in particular man.. This show is quickly climbing up my favourites.
