a fair first szn, don't think it's anything special & overrated. everything about this first szn is heavily batman & gotham inspired, i won’t say its a ripoff but god - from the setting, the main character, the story… there is zero creativity & everything feels very typical & madly predictable basically all of action feels senseless & very plot-armory, the fight scenes just get so old so quick - reminds me how lucky i am to have seen shows like ‘warrior’ & ‘banshee’ where the action is much more better & engaging. a lot of the action scenes here are so dimly lit & pretty unbelievable - like for instance daredevil dodges spraying AK-47 bullets & jumps out a window falling 30 feet nothing has beaten that ‘oldboy’ inspired fight scene in 1x2. the antagonist is also super cringe & typical - lashes out & is super irrational & violent & stupid - “i wanna restore peace in this city” type of thing another thing about his powers that's a grey area is how he fights. does he have super strength or something? how is he able to so easily do a flipping dropping knee, especially being so injured that he should be in a hospital (ep 2). there’s so many times where he's done things that the most physically gifted humans couldn't do. The show is trying to be gritty & portray realism, so when this happens it completely takes away from that effect. also the dialogue at times is super corny - “i’m the darkness” “I’m gonna kill you!!!” “i won’t let you get away with this!” it’s always so melodramatic, no one in the show talks like a real person & sometimes it's hard to listen to. also i hate how they executed death scenes in this first szn overall pretty disappointed, only upside is how hot karen is
