opening as this did brought into light the interlinked worry of both oz and sofia’s upbringings, and their since affected worldviews. how domecisity has been violence, and how time and time again, a sexual contaminant in each and every of their relationships. not bring up something so dour, but there have been such glaring elements of emotional incestuousness, explified by the little detail of oswald’s “like gilda” today. though with sal’s mention of his bereavement, the apparent disparity between their giganti-maroni conglomerate and cobb’s organisation is only explified, given the sharp clarity of our difference in perception. after considering what is—from their view—oswald’s blatant concern with—what has only appeared—the individual. as alberto teased and is drilled in again by relation to vic’s homecoming, neighbourhood legacy is of ever-present influence to oz, and as sofia may soon come to realise, the living memory of his mother. morbidity lives and breathes through gotham in the instrumentalisation of them all. so almost seperately, quickly before i close this little chapter, i need to mention something standout. in one of the smallest touches to grief’s sentimentality, i found the particularity to nadia’s recipes and taj’s preferences the sweetest, most clever bit of writing. quite thoughtful in weighing each loss alone, with both wife and child role beautifully interplayed individualities of memory. thusly to repeat myself on sofia gigante and oswald cobb, it’s been little less than an ebb and flow; of relentless emotional similarity bleeding a closeness, before again a chasm of situational difference in learned approach. recognition of parental wounds lost to the pull of class disparities, etcetera as it is.
