Seeing Lila reveal herself as the psycho yandere bitch she’s always been was great to see especially since it brought out Dexter’s rageful, protective side. Doakes now being completely on Dexter’s trail should make for one hell of an exciting rest of the season especially since Lundy and Co. are starting to get on him too. This season is much faster paced than S1, which, for me, hurts some of the buildup and intrigue that made S1 so compelling, but the intensity and tension that continues to ratchet up here makes up for it. On my last rewatch, I was rather uncomfortable about Deb & Lundy’s romance and while I find their physical relationship forced, that doesn’t take away from my overall investment in their dynamic. Certainly doesn’t take away from how entertaining Lundy is just generally. Just wish his and Deb’s relationship remained platonic personally. Seeing Dexter tie up loose ends from his past for real this time was certainly interesting given his general journey as a character here. Creates some really interesting questions about whether Dexter goes for his ultimate revenge because he wants to or because that’s what HARRY would’ve wanted.
