Great episode. Serious highlight of the entire show. Seeing Dexter confront a figure from deep in his past was absolutely enthralling especially in light of the identity crisis he’s spent the whole season wrapped up in. The scene where he essentially falls into Lila’s arms was wholesome as hell in a weird way. That’s mainly the case because of the immense tension and pressure Dexter’s under. Also love seeing Dexter, as the title implies, struggle with the morality of his kills. It’s part of what Dexter makes such a compelling character. He considers himself a complete monster, but only because he was told that’s what he was by a fatalist and now, as an adult, all on his own, he has no idea who he is, can be, or wants to be. This is easily one of the most notable episodes that explores that concept especially since this is the episode where Dexter starts to learn some upending information about Harry, to put it lightly.
