this was an incredible start to this series and i cant wait to keep watching. its incredible to see how the people they interview talk about the game, you can tell they are in love with it. ive been drawn to baseball lately and i can see how i could foster the same love that they have this episode really framed this as something purely american since its development was so linked to the development of the nation. its also amazing how a kids game BECAME a national pasttime in the first place. im really hoping one of the episodes talks about the "baseball episodes" on tv because i find that so fascinating of a trope the way they talk abt baseball bringing you back to being a kid is so interesting to me. i was raised as a girl and didnt play baseball with my dad or friends, but i still remember the first game i ever went to even though i didnt like it. i remember playing it in school even though it was only a few times. it managed to cement itself into my mind
