I know we all like answers, but I think they might have forgotten that answers alone aren't enough. There should still be surprises, investment, or both; between the two, all I can pull together is the surprise that it was Lilia who cast the sigil and the Ralph return. Two fun surprises, a lot of stuff that was already heavily speculated and circulated, and some disbelief when "Look this is totally 13-year-old William!" was sprung on me.

I mean, the episode was well-enough-made, featured Beck's best bit of scoring for the show so far, and used its runtime well, but I'm just glad all the theories that this was a main character bait-and-switch were proven wrong. Locke is believable but kind of an average Joe actor; Hahn, on the other hand, absolutely holds the whole episode down while appearing for maybe a third of it at the end. I'd love to see Locke be asked to go big and successfully step into the character's shoes by the end of the show, but that didn't happen at the end of the last episode nor did it happen here, so Billy is a little forgettable right now. Love to see where this will take Agatha though.

(I'm not sure I get all the "such good writing" praise when this show still doesn't trust in the intelligence of its audience. Strong writing isn't having Lilia go "I don't remember" with a dramatic pause after we've already SEEN she doesn't remember, and it's not Billy ending the episode with "I'm not very nice" when we've already SEEN he isn't. Why do the writers sully the good work they have done by assuming everyone watching has Marvel brain, when they have the power to decide what "Marvel brain" is?)
