I'm new to John Wilson and looking for inspiration.
Documentary-wise, this series hits the spot. Although I binged it in a day, it wasn't a good approach, I think. But I really enjoyed the writing and his musings on each topic, and I was just in awe of all the B-roll footage that he has and his clever ability to connect seemingly random things that have the same idea, basically.
'How to Find a Spot' is my favorite episode, weirdly philosophical. The last ep was also incredibly dark and wild. What a way to conclude the series.
Overall, it's essentially a piece on the wonderful, strange, and horrid parts of humanity, focused on the multicultural and ever-diverse metropolis that is New York City. I wish there were more.
