Ahsoka might not be one of the best things Star Wars has put out, but it's certainly far better than some of their recent stuff like Obi-Wan and Boba Fett.
The show is a series of highs and lows. Visually, it looks amazing. The cinematography is great, the CGI is excellent and the world-building is interesting. The score makes a big impression while the directing is pretty good. I really enjoyed the action. There were some really nice space battles and the lightsaber fights were very enjoyable to watch. The story is a bit of a mixed bag. It's good, but more often than not it feels a little drawn out and underwritten. I also didn't love how much homework the show requires to be understood. It takes away from the enjoyment and emotional investment. I was able to catch the bigger stuff, but some of the deeper cuts completely flew over my head and just left me confused.
The show has a great cast, but the characters could definitely be improved. Rosario Dawson looks wonderful as Ahsoka and she does do a good job. The problem is that sometimes her acting is way too understated and stiff. Her combat skills also need work. Natasha Liu Bordizzo and Mary Elizabeth Winstead both do a great job. I really liked Sabine and Hera. David Tennant is fantastic as the voice of Huyang. He has a lot of very funny lines and exchanges. Eman Esfandi has a small role, but his charisma makes his version of Ezra instantly likable. Ray Stevenson and Ivanna Sakhno are great, but unfortunately, Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati didn't have a lot to do, besides just standing around and talking. Thrawn was disappointing. He didn't feel intimidating and was a pretty bad tactician.
Overall, while Ahsoka is enjoyable, it has a lot of stuff that needs improvement. I liked it, but I was expecting more.
