The best thing about The Sopranos is unpredictability. The big moments in the series are all very mundane, and they come out of small things at unexpected moments. It's not like other series and films, it's just like real life. There are no epic moments or romanticization in the series. In fact, it's impossible to like any of the characters. Because good and evil are not simple things. People are on different ends of the spectrum depending on each situation. Also, it might be the best final episode I've ever seen in a TV series. It gives the audience a choice of three different endings. It's one of the touches that makes the series timeless. David Chase is a certified genius. I watched the last four episodes last night. It left a big void in me. I feel like shit. Aside from changing TV and the production of TV series, the level of influence of The Sopranos is a whole other level, from Breaking Bad to Atlanta.
PS: It made me miss the rhythm and creation of the old series that started with Oz and this series and ended with Better Call Saul. RIP golden age of TV. You are missed...
