Before I begin with my review, I published a lot of lists and I want everyone to go and check em out because they took me a lot of time to make lol What a fun show bro, so glad I decided to watch this show in the summer as it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Really really love this show, S1-4 were incredible and watching them over the summer made it even better, S5-9 weren’t too bad but S6 and S8 drag it down Fs. I’ll really miss watching this show as it’s been such a routine to keep watching and never stop lmao. All the characters are peak in this show too and some of their development is very good. I’ll now begin getting more in depth with my review of this peak show. Dexter Morgan, one of the best TV protagonists and the best character in the show; I really find his character fascinating and really love his depth and why he does what he does. Some ppl may not like him and that is okay but I just don’t see why you can hate him, he’s really well written imo and his inner monologues are absolutely great and it feels like we are there with him every single episode. His conclusion was peak asf and overhated but that’s prob gonna get ruined since resurrection is coming out but I pray that it doesn’t cuz his conclusion was spot on man. His dynamics with everybody in the show is great and I love how much of an effect ppl have on him. I could yap more about him and go more in depth but for the sake of not wasting time, I’ll just say that he is my #2 protagonist oat behind Rick and I seriously just love his character man ❤️ Really loved the introduction of this show in S1, 1x1 was a great ass opener and immersed us in the setting of Miami and they introduced Dexter very well in the pilot man. We got to know some characters that are close to Dexter like Debra, Angel, Vince, and Harry, all great characters man. Brian Moser, the antagonist in S1, was VERY good and he’s a bit better than Trinity imo, his character made the season so much better and added some development to Dexter which I adore. Best antagonist in the show and one of the best characters in the show. I’m not gonna talk about each season but all I’m saying is that the introduction of Dexter is just peak man, very immersive and I will always love it no matter what people say. Ik that ppl say the show fell off after S4 but I like to think of it as the show’s quality got a bit worse after S4. S5 was great, S6 was aight, S7 was great, S8 was just mid, and S9 was better than S5-8 and made an impressive comeback for the show. Though the show felt a bit uninteresting at times because of certain characters, plots, etc, the show never fell off and I still liked it no matter what people say. Certain characters like Debra got even better during the later seasons and I really loved her character during those seasons (mainly S7) because she became more of a serious character in the show if Yk what I mean and wasn’t that funny girl anymore. But yeah in all honesty, S5-9 wasn’t bad but S6 and S8 make it appear bad but honestly the pros outweigh the negatives. S1-4 though is the #4 best prime oat and I have GOT, TWD, and LOST prime ahead of it. If I had to use one word for this prime, it would be “fun” because man idk what else to say abt it cuz it was entertaining ash. Doakes, Trinity, Miguel, and Brian were all great antagonists and made the season so much better since all their acting is great and the dynamic they had with Dexter during those seasons was great. S3 is very overhated as well, seriously love that season and it negs S5-9 quite easily so just wanted to say that. Please watch this show over the summer guys, it felt to satisfying to watch since there was no school and Miami is just peak summer vibes man. Really loved this prime and 4x12 and 1x12 were the best episodes, both were incredibly sad and changed Dexter a lot. Before I end this review, I want to shift focus towards Debra because she honestly ain’t talked about enough. Ik ppl will get angry about what I’m about to say but idrc and I just hope y’all understand but she’s a VERY and I mean VERY good deuteragonist, the third best deuteragonist oat. Reason being is because I think her character simply has very good development and her dynamic with Dexter is just… amazing man, I mean, their development throughout the entire show changes so much and especially in 7x1. Her conflicts with Dexter and other investigations throughout the show are written really good as well and they both build her to be a better character as she’s very determined to figure certain things out. She never gives up and is a very good character just for that honestly. I’ll explain more why I like her if ppl want but for now that’s all ima say abt her, just a peak ass character and had a huge impact on Dexter. Overall, this is one of my fav shows oat, mid 4.5 and my #5th fav show oat.
