How does this ruin canon. It doesn't contradict anything from the OT in any way

I have so many shows on my list of shows I wanna watch/rewatch... Star Trek TNG and DS9, Trollhunters, Ninjago, etc., and also Star Wars The Clone Wars, Rebels, and shit... Might take a while to get through all that because school starts Wednesday 😭 And my friend forces me to watch Stranger Things soon IT'S TOO MUCH XD
