8/10
I really liked this interpretation of Batman, with a few things I didn't like, specifically in episode 8, but overall, it was a really solid Batman show with a spin on the lore. I absolutely loved the way this show explores Bruce's trauma, and him having to build up so many walls, I wish we got more therapy episodes with him and Harley. Speaking of, Harley Quinn in this show is another one of my favorite parts of this take, the fact that Bruce Timm proved how he can make a creative Harley Quinn, one that isn't born from Joker, and is a threat in and of itself. And even though I thought BTAS handled Harvey Dent better, I still liked the way this show was better at giving a Dent that still had some control of his former self, and didn't immediately become a mustache twirling villain. I also liked how much character was given to Barbara Gordon as a lawyer, and Renee Montaya. Jim is mostly the same as his other interpretations.
Moving on to things I did not like about this show; I think Matt Reeves really hates Robins. Because every single Robin (except Damian) was under Leslie Thompkins' care, so they obviously aren't gonna become any member of the Batfamily. I also initially wasn't a fan of how mean Bruce was to Alfred, but I grew onto it and loved it when his arc came full circle by the end.
Overall, this was a solid season, and I'm actually so glad we're having a new Batman animated show, despite its few shortcomings, I actually am looking forward to the next season, whenever it comes out. To compare it to My Adventures With Superman, I'd say that one is better in terms of emotional engagement, but I'm really hoping the second season would break new grounds the way MAWS did.
