I wish we had, like, 2-4 more episodes so we can see this particular conflict/battle/series of battles play out, but most of what we have in this season is really, very stellar.
Throughout the season I felt kind of impatient with Daemon spending each episode Tripping Balls, but it all paid off extremely well so it's been worth it.
What I love most about this season is this theme of the double standard of royalty/regency, I find it interesting that Rhaenyra's path to victory involves reconciling with the power that exists among common people. Both her and Corlys having to recognize the nobility of abandoned bastards is interesting. And similarly Aegon/Aemond keep deteriorating the more they repress the common people. Makes it all feel very Mandate of Heaven and I like that a lot.
Looking forward to at least the early part of season 3 being hella wartime insanity.
