Such a fantastic show. It's interesting seeing other people's reaction to Valerie Cherish. For others, she's insufferable and the worst person you've ever met, but for some, like me, she's an endearing, crazy mess.
I read somewhere that Lisa Kudrow said that when the first season aired in 2005, it was mostly gay men who understood and got the show. It honestly is very accurate.
It's a difficult show to watch. I understand why it didn't get the attention it deserved. The first season is incredibly brutal and painful that it'll make you want to claw your eyes out. It's a tragic comedy that really manages to be very tragic and very funny. The show's ending still leaves me as floored as it did when I watched it years ago.
I love shows that break its own rules. Fleabag and now this.
