1. 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎 The reasons why I started this show are several. First of all it was trending right now and has been watched a lot lately, secondly I heard really good things about this show such as the protagonist and antagonist concept which I really liked. 2. 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐅 𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐓 The plot is pretty simple and nothing surprising, namely consisting of a murder investigation in CBI. In that case, why is this show so good? As you can guess from the intro it is the fault of protagonist Patrick Jane who absolutely holds the show together. His concept is that he is an incredibly charismatic and intelligent man who can read a person or case by some small details and solve it quickly. On top of that, he's a great strategist, manipulator and everything in between. He is really interesting to watch. There is also Red John but more on him later. 3. 𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐊 𝐉𝐀𝐍𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐉𝐎𝐇𝐍 While Patrick hasn't shown anything crazy this season, I see a lot of potential for that in the future. However, from what was shown, I really liked his introduction which revealed his motivations, goals and backstory and overall his personality in just the pilot episode. His motives and goals are directly related to the main antagonist of the show, Red John, who killed Patrick's wife and kid, causing him to join the CBI with the goal of finding him in the future. I didn't say anything about John in the plot summary because unfortunately in the entire season he only has 3 episodes that don't even fully focus on him. In the first one we are only told who he is on a superficial level, in the second one some acquaintance of John's in prison knew some information about him and he was willing to tell Jane if he was proven innocent, and in the third one again the episode only focuses on John's acquaintance. Even despite his small focus this season Patrick already has a good dynamic with him which is evident in his frantic determination to catch him. So I'm looking forward to their development in subsequent seasons. 4. 𝐅𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐑𝐒 As I said the main plot of Red John is only 3 episodes out of 23, and the remaining 20 episodes are investigations of some ordinary cases without any connection. Even though they're not very important, they're still pretty enjoyable and I'm not going to skip a single episode. 5. 𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 Aside from Patrick and John, there are other important characters namely the rest of the department with Jane. Even though they are obviously not on par with him they are still interesting, especially Rigsby, that mf is literally me 6. 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 Good first season. From the next seasons I expect less filler episodes, development of Patrick and John and preferably the rest of the department. 7.
