Thank you Mr Serialzd for putting this on here!! The real Orphan Black sequel. Not that ‘Echoes’ was bad but I look back at it now and think ‘yeah, that certainly exists I guess’ I watched it over 6 months ago and have no desire to rewatch it, and I don’t think I ever will. The series ended perfectly but I’ve gone through both seasons of The Next Chapter three times over. I don’t want to elaborate or spoil much but… if counted as part of the TV show, the first season of TNC would rank as the best season. Yes, THE best season, better than Season 1 which is pretty much flawless already. I always knew OB’s first season was good, years before I got around to watching it properly. I had literally NO IDEA this podcast continuation would be good, let alone as good as the original series. And if you told me that story wise it’s actually better than 4 out of 5 of the TV show’s seasons, yeah I would’ve thought you were having a laugh. But Jesus Christ, this IS spectacular. The first season is at least, the second season… has issues (and isn’t anywhere near as good as the show’s weakest season for me) but over time it’s grown on me and I appreciate the new direction it took the series. In Season 1 Tatiana does all the narration - that is, she doesn’t just narrate her characters but everyone else, including the men. It’s funny and cute hearing her attempt at impersonating Art. Yet her attempts at mimicking Delphine are SERIOUSLY good. In Season 2 they have someone else narrate and Tatiana only does her characters, plus a few of the other actors from the show join her to voice their respective characters. I’d love to see this spinoff return for another season. Season 2 ended wonderfully but there’s still more cool adventures they could write. In the context of Echoes, it would also be useful to see more of the time/years leading up to that show’s events and understand how certain characters and their relationships changed in that time.
