Part 2 Review:

—lost a little bit of the magic of season 1 in my opinion by trying to push the characters/dynamics of everything without actually allowing for a lot of growth/change
—the kids are really great and I just wish they had more time to shine and also more scenes altogether as opposed to continuously being paired off
—talking about Gwen’s Blackness is actually a really important issue and instead they made a storyline that I guess got them points for acknowledging her Blackness but then did absolutely nothing to actually recognize what that would mean for a teenage girl being raised by a white parent in a predominantly white town (ALSO in order for this episode to work, it really had to be pretend that Nikki and Ozzi were white)
—-> I was excited when they introduced Cole and I thought that maybe he would be a good avenue for Gwen to be able to explore her Blackness, so I was disappointed when they never took it there
—pregnancy storyline was funny, but it also fell flat for me that there seemed to be no implication that Nikki could get an abortion. I understand the time period and the tow, but this is a fictional show that’s being made in 2024, AND abortions have always happened, so it felt like a huge misstep/mishandling for the modern audience 
—give Ozzi a boyfriend Jesus Christ 
—I didn’t watch that 70s show, which didn’t feel like an issue in season 1, but I think this season was too cameo driven so I would constantly tune out. Need to properly satisfy your only that 90s show audience too
