Flawless masterpiece of a season, deadass perfect. Had me nothing but entertaining for every single second, had me nothing but invested in everything just like it did on first watch. This was better on rewatch tho just knowing how everything maps out at the end and u can slowly see the events play out makes it so much more easier to appreciate everything. Like the character work that’s so isolated into their own storylines yet so connected to everything that’s going on and built around in the story. Also every single character added this season or were mainly focused this season are utilized so phenomenally. Loved the way they used mentors from past seasons to guide and bond with kids aswell, like Prez and Dukie, and Namond and Colvin, Randy and Carv, and Mike and Cutty. Also loved what they did with Namond introducing his character as the son of wee bay and making the struggle of living up to be like your father the recurring theme of his character was so well done, also loved how they used his mom as the tool to guide him to it but he just kept cracking and showed he wasn’t built like his dad, then Colvin comes along and basically saves his life from his crazy mom that wants nothin but money and respect and would be willing to see her kid die for it. The character work with Bodie is so well executed this season aswell, whole show he would get subtle character moments that would slowly grow him as a character and make more sense with time when thinking about his conclusion and him in those last 4 episodes was jus so great even with the little screentime he gets they make it work so well, and anyone that thinks his conclusion is rushed are dumb. Only complaint but not really complaint cuz the show couldn’t do nothing about it is mcnultys character so underused this season and him not even showing in some episodes of this season which is annoyin especially after a season of him being that good and impactful to the story was ass but nothing they could do the actor didn’t wanna be in that much scenes so they had to limit down his screen time which actually worked so well for the characters around him, but I still like what they did with him in mission accomplished but just kinda made it more demotivating caring for a character so much in that season finale like Mcnulty and then the next season he shows like 12 times is kinda disappointing but whatever, at least he was peak in s5 so I get to enjoy him there. 
But without a doubt a top 3 season in television I have it gapping everything outside my top 3 very badly, every single thing about this season is flawless and had me captivated on every storyline just amazing.

Top 10 characters 
🥇Namond (one of the best side characters ever put to tv)
🥈Randy (one of the most emotional characters ever and one of the best most well put together character arcs ever)
🥉Mike (best developed character of the season, felt lil underused in first couple episodes but was a big character later on and is setup very good for s5)
4)Bubbles (such a tragic character to watch this season everything just felt like it kept going bad for him and that opening scene in final grades is one of the most emotional and depressing scenes ever, his character gets so well set up for s5 it’s crazy)
5)Prez (amazingly used after his arc in s3, had a great dynamic with Dukie)
6)Bodie (kinda carried by his last 3 episodes/dynamic with Mcnulty, but his conclusion was so well executed and really leaves a mark)
7)Colvin (him and Namond this season was so good)
8)Carrcetti (would’ve been higher but his character got less interesting as the season progressed which isn’t a bad thing but I’d usually like it the opposite happened but it’s whatever liked him in TGHO tho)
9)Omar (so fun to watch in the 2nd half and leaves off great room for his character in s5 to work around with him and Marlo conflicts)
10)Marlo/Lester/Bunk (i can’t pick between them for a 10th)
