“𝓣𝓱𝓲𝓼 𝓲𝓼 𝔀𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓮 𝓘 𝓰𝓻𝓮𝔀 𝓾𝓹”
Holyyyyy man,T2 in the show so far.
This episode deals with Don’s internal struggles of rediscovering who he really is, Dick Whitman. He also tries to stop drinking and better himself but his shaking indicated how deep his addiction went. To try and get a fresh start he insisted to move to California (where Anna lived). However, due to ted wanting the same for his family and to get away from Peggy’s, he went instead.
The Hershey’s pitch is honesty one of the best scenes in the show so far. In the first pitch, Don spoke from the side of ‘Donald Draper’ talking about his past but lying about it for the account. He spoke about his father and his love, in reality his past was far from that. In his monologue, he spoke as Dick Whitman and spoke about being orphaned and how he grew up in a whore house, obviously leaving the partners shocked because this isolated man shared his past with ease. “Hershey’s was the only sweet thing in my life” broke me man.
His return to his childhood home was so great and after so many years he’s finally letting his children know who their father really is. The shot of them looking at the house was so beautiful.
From the few things I know about season 7, I see the vision of Don finding himself and returning to Dick Whitman. So excited for that shit but I don’t want this show to emd.
