This was so disappointing. I tried to like it, I really did, but it just wasn’t good. They missed so so many plot lines, and also the overall vibe of the book. Where was the mystery? It didn’t feel like a murder mystery at ALL. She didn’t even really investigate much. And also… the podcast? Like how could they not include that?!! In the book she interview and questioned so many people, and in the show she just had a couple conversations with some suspects. But I also think that her inner monologue was a pretty big part of the book, and they obviously couldn’t really do that in the show. Wich I think is why it felt like, she didn’t do much investigating , cause that all happened in her head. But still they could’ve done it differently, even though they didn’t have the inner monologue. Stanley is apparently nonexistent too. It also felt way to bright and colorful. I wanted it to be darker and scarrier, but it wasn’t scarry or intense at all. The whole thing with the drug dealer also felt so brushed over, and that party underground… why. That was so weird. I personally didn’t love the outfit choices either, but maybe that’s just me. The cast I liked, but some of they’re acting skills were uhm well not amazing. I love Zain as Ravi, but he’s gotta work a little on the acting skills. The whole thing just feelt so so rushed, poorly done, and COMPLETELY missed the whole vibe of the book. Tbh I don’t even want them to make a season 3 for the third book, cause that book is the darkest and most intense of them all, and if they couldn’t even make this season mystery’s and dark how are they gonna make season 3? I will watch season 2 if they make one, but only cause I’m curious.
