What a magnificent episode! I am genuinely perplexed by those who express a disliking for this season. Antony Starr's portrayal of Homelander continues to reach new heights, with subtle and intricate alterations to his performance as his character gradually unravels. We also see the characters' pasts catch up with them this season. Whether it be Kimiko's time with the Sun organization, Frenchie's past as an assassin, Huey's mom, Starlight's history as a former mean girl, A-Train's redemption arc, or Homelander's struggle to reconcile his childhood abuse, each character has their own arc that will likely lead to a payoff that converges into the A plot. Even MM has more to do this season. Season 4 might have the most character growth out of all the seasons. I also like how the show is not being subtle with its social commentary. This episode critiqued white women’s feminism, microaggressions against Black women, made a pro-choice stance, and addressed pedophilia in the Christian community. This season is really bold, and I respect that.
