Alex Garland isn't as smart as he thinks he is, which makes the pretentiousness of this harder to bear. There's some interesting stuff here and the show is at its best in the middle few episodes, but then it spends a full episode explaining stuff that was already clear and everything after that is predictable. The ending is very lackluster.
I didn't hate this and I think I like it more than I typically like Alex Garland but I didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped I would.
Stephen McKinley Henderson should have been in it more. He should just be in everything.
