(REVIEW FOR THE FIRST 4 ARCS OF THE SHOW) WOW what an incredible first half of the show. There’s something special about this show that I can’t quite put my finger on but it makes me so engaged with this world. This is, without a doubt, the most creative show I’ve ever seen. So many awesome character designs, the world building is insanely good, the music is atmospheric, the character writing is super solid, it’s just an overall great experience. Hunter Exam Arc: Rating - 9/10 Incredible first story arc, it was so fun to watch all these characters face off in these challenges that tested their physical strength, their mental capabilities, their teamwork, their hunting capabilities, it was just such a joy to watch, and a very easy one at that. The character designs in this arc were especially unique and is the reason this had me hooked in the first place. Zoldyk Family Arc: Rating - 7/10 Nothing crazy, this only lasted a few episodes, I thought it was alright and worked as an introduction to get to know the powerful Zoldyks. Heavens Arena Arc: Rating - 5/10 I really did not like this arc, I do completely understand why this arc is needed, because it’s needed for the rest of the show, but I got sick of it so fast, and it felt never ending. I did like one of the final episodes of the arc, but overall it just failed to engage me like the other arcs did. Yorknew City Arc - 9.5/10 This shit had me geeked. What an amazing story arc that introduced us to some of the most menacing and interesting antagonist groups in TV, The Phantom Troupe. There wasn’t a single bad episode this arc, and it was so intricately written to the point where the episodes felt like they were only half the runtime. This arc also elevated the show to a more show off the mature themes it wanted to tell, and it got a lot more violent. Great character building, and overall just such a blast.
