i find this very difficult to rate bc i have so many conflicting feelings about it and im wondering if i've just been conditioned by better call saul to dislike feel good romanticisation of lawyers, which is a me problem and not an indictment (😳) against the show
anyway this was cute... too cute at times for my taste. absolutely did not give a shit about the romance, and the occasional infantilisation (?) of youngwoo felt iffy at times... not even sure infantilisation is the right word here, and bc im not on the spectrum i find it difficult to discern if the asd representation is good and/or accurate, but they do seem to go out of their way to make her seem cutesy or quirky? it's also appalling imo how some of the people around her treat her, even the ones that are close to her/her friends, but perhaps this is an accurate representation of life for autistic individuals
i appreciate the efforts made at dissecting the ethics of law and being a lawyer at a corporate type law firm, but the conclusions drawn are imo too simplistic and too forgiving of the firm in question... like it's very convenient that youngwoo almost always comes up with a last minute legal breakthrough that allows their firm to win the suit while maintaining "moral high ground", and i like attorney jung but honestly the douche who stepped in for him at the end of the season is probably a better representation of the average lawyer at this kind of firm than jung
anyway overall some episodes had whack pacing and were a slog to get through, and i was mostly interested in the courtroom bits... the child born out of wedlock plot and the overarching revenge thing going on are whatever, the romance was low-key unbearable... but it's definitely a solid and well made show that explores a relatively unique premise with an interesting cast of characters, just wasn't a good match for my taste
