for being my first drama in 2018 n it sticking around to become my favorite drama ever... i think says a lot, so this will be my first long-ish review/thoughts

i love lu yang and lin jinxiao's storyline so much!! rosetta and philae.. the scene where his heart condition takes over him... where he proposed to her with a can tab... the first wedding dress reveal... there is so much to love for being the second couple.

this also is kinda uncommon for other watchers/fans (etc) but i really (realllllly) dislike wu bosong ): i understand second lead syndrome how he was hopelessly in love with chen xiaoxi... but considering how much time she had been liking jiang chen and how he literally saw her never change her mind (we dont talk about the wedding scene) i don't understand how he couldve "fixed her" like omg twitter mentality I swear!! i can appreciate him as a character though especially during the scene where he was on the phone with chen xiaoxi during jiang chens drunk confession (snakey but for the plot? need i say less..)

time for the main couple now <3 jiang chen and chen xiaoxi!! i love this kind of story of "___ next door"!! i dont know how to call it though... friends to lovers? something like that. overall i really love them a lot and the development with jiang chen and his feelings towards chen xiaoxi. ive seen a lot of talk about not liking his character because he was never forward with his feelings and i do understand that... its very reasonable considering we never understood how he really felt until the drunk confession and when he told li wei during the firework scene he had a crush on chen xiaoxi. anyways, i really admire how chen xiaoxi never gave up on anything. she continued pursuing him, she continued pursuing her dreams (even when there was nobody there to support her), she just always had a fun personality and is a relatable character. their relationship might be basic but it shows how even through hardship its still possible to keep going <3 seeing jiang chen smile because of her made all the difference really!!!!! my fav scenes were definitely the study scene (putting hair behind her ear), the first time they went to school together, when jiang chen apologized to her and asked for her back on the bench, and their proposal :))

anyways, there so much more to say but so little time, definitely huge recommendation to watch it if you have time! it is so memorable n gives so much comfort <3
