When I first watched Parks and Rec a few years ago, I remember reading an article about how it's just like a live-action version of The Simpsons, with its wacky cast of recurring characters that circle around the equally as wacky core family of the Parks and Rec team - which builds a wider sense of Pawnee as a dysfunctional but loveable, real town. That's what the show does so well, balancing all its characters' individual quirks with real stories of connection, love, family, and community. Truly the best set of characters to ever exist together in one setting. This will always be my comfort show <3
