Had to hop on the new trending show. It’s funny because I use to laugh at the thought of this show being remotely good. My head cannon was that it was soap opera bullshit with no depth or complexity. Only made for a cheap cry. Now after watching the first episode I can safely say I still may agree with that comment. I do like the concept; everyone is connected, one dies and another is born. The circle of life. It reminds me of Paul Thomas Anderson’s film “Magnolia” in that regard. But unlike Magnolia, this film has no style. It’s so uninspired visually that I can’t help but feel this overwhelming NBC cheesy aura surrounding it all. Who knows, maybe it’ll get better but for now I still can’t shake off my initial expectation of this show. Also, 106 episode is dreadful.
