I think with the ‘hype’ about the Sopranos led to me having extremely high expectations when approaching the show for the first time. And though I’ve really enjoyed the preceding seasons, it never quite hit the heights I was told it could - until now. Weirdly enough this was the season where I really thought: Ohhh I get it now. I think this is because this season focused a lot on the women; their complicity and moral qualms - particularly Carmela and Adriana. That final moment of realisation for Carmela that slowly built up as the season went on, cultivating in that final argument scene between her and Tony - wow wow wow.
