Andor is basically the Star Wars version of The Wire S4. Sure it's not as good and isn't executed as well perfectly considering The Wire S4 is in my top 1-2 seasons oat, but what Andor accomplishes to show the corruption of the empire, and how the ones affected by it take action upon it, with themes of heroism, determination, selflessness, sacrifice, and perseverance, it tells its story through these themes and I do think for being only one season, and the first season of this show, its a masterpiece. It's also very rewatchable, and you notice tons of subtle details written within the characters and especially the worldbuilding. It's also one of the most gorgeous shows I've ever put my eyes upon with episode like The Eye and One Way Out. I'm not the biggest fan of the first 3-4 episodes of the show. Episode 3 is particularly very well directed but it's not shockingly good. I think episode 1 is definitely the worst of the show, but what i do like is how in the town of Ferrix, the day shift workers leave their gloves out on a rack that anybody could steal at any time, which seems pretty stupid, but actually adds to the worldbuilding of Ferrix. It show's that Ferrix is a town with closely-knit individuals who all trust one another enough to not steal anything from one another, and they use it as a system throughout Ferrix. In Episode 3, when danger is approaching, the citizens of Ferrix use cowbell-like instruments to alert the rest of the town of the danger. This is just a neat little addition that could be completely unnecessary, but it makes the town feel more lived-in, and it stands out from other towns like Tatooine. My only real issue with the show is the Mon Mothma storyline. It's just not for me, and its not exactly relatable, or easy to understand, and has no payoff by the end of this season. Maybe by the end of the show it will be worth it, but as of now, it's quite a leap in terms of my engagement to the show when compared to the other plotlines. So yeah, this is a masterclass in dialogue, subtlety’s, acting, character building, world building, and for basically starting the Star Wars trilogy.
