“it’s frightening. being alone with your own mind.“
been wanting to sit down and watch this for a while, and i’m glad i finally did. as a non-religious person myself, i’m sure i had a different experience with this than somebody who is. however, i still enjoyed the complexity of faith and the major conflict of modernization vs. tradition. this was more than merely solving a brutal murder; it brings to light the significance religion-defining morals, specifically within the LDS church. so much so that even faithful mormon jeb pyre—who is stunningly portrayed by andrew garfield—begins questioning his role within the church. this story constantly expanded upon itself, evolving from tragedy into a larger phenomena. for the most part, i would recommend this to anybody searching for depth and complexity. it is a very, very large picture, but each and every detail remains relevant.
