⚠️Some spoilers in this review ⚠️
Normal People is one of the most thematically strong and beautiful shows I’ve ever had the pleasure to watch. The 2 leads are played so incredibly well that adds to the realism and relatability of the show that almost made it feel all too much to me. It’s an onslaught of emotion and incredible storytelling.
The acting is honestly mesmerising. Connell breaking down in therapy is genuinely one of the best acted scenes I’ve ever witnessed and made me love Paul Mescal even more. Daisy Edgar-Jones is also incredible through the whole show, but to me the standout scene for her is in Connell and Marianne’s goodbye, which is a cathartic and fitting conclusion for a stunning story.
“I’ll go”
“And I’ll stay”
It’s just so magical. It’s a very short show and I would highly recommend it.
Next watch: The Rehearsal.
