The 100 (2014)
although i feel i like this season more than most, there’s is a lot that’s wrong with s7. what makes it so hard to create a good final season? i also think that this season was actually good up until the latter half, where plot holes did begin to form and the overall story just became so far-fetched i don’t have an exact rating for this season but i’m leaning to a low 7 which is HEAVILY carried by my love for this cast, so it’s very possible that this is a bias rating but oh well i know nobody reads my reviews but in case you are, there are some pretty light spoilers coming up, i try not to spoil too much character rankings/comments: 1. Clarke - what a character, one of my favourites of all time. sometimes i wonder if the writers are watching the same show i am because *that* decision involving Bellamy was so incredibly out of character and quite could literally the worst moment in the series ☠️. other than that, Clarke has had some amazing scenes this season, her speech that took place during one of the first few episodes was insanely cold. i know i say this every time, but Eliza Taylor does not get enough credit for this role, her ability to portray the extreme pain that Clarke goes through is brilliant. the fact that she had actually suffered a miscarriage prior to filming the Madi scene makes me devastated and have so much respect for her 2. Octavia - another brilliant character who went through an amazing character arc this season. i absolutely loved her development in understanding how Clarke and Bellamy have felt in the past when protecting the ones they love. Octavia had a great dynamic with so many characters this season, most notably being, Clarke, Hope and Diyoza. 3. Raven - despite being slightly sidelined last season, i think Raven played a great role in this one. seeing her go through the pain that characters such as Clarke had to go through early on and actually understand what it’s like to sacrifice people for the greater good was sad to see but i think great for her character. her scene in explaining why the human race is worth saving was also a highlight for me 4. Murphy - this man had be bawling during the last episode. i actually love his character conclusion and his whole arc has just been phenomenal. his love for Emori and his friends is just so sweet 5. (INCLUDES SPOILERS) genuinely impossible choice between Diyoza and Gabriel tbh. both of their conclusions were absolutely devastating especially after i’d grown to love these two a lot. Diyoza’s development has been amazing and it just shows in her sacrifice HM (SPOILERS) : Indra - never did i think that this woman would make it to the end 😭. i’m so glad she did, even though i’m pissed off with her for not killing Sheidheda, i still think she was great this season. i loved her chat with Octavia back at the bunker, one of the few who admit to sharing the responsibility of what happened in the dark year, ‘we were all bloodreina’. dynamics: 1. Octavia and Clarke 2. Murphy and Emori 3. Diyoza, Octavia and Hope / Raven, Emori and Murphy plot/story: before i say anything, i do believe that the first half of the season was actually enjoyable, although at times, very confusing. however, i feel like i have understood everything by the end of the season, despite a few plot holes but oh well. i think the whole transcendence shit was slightly ridiculous. one of the worst parts of this season is the lack of Bellamy and his arc in general. it just went against all of his development and his actions were just so incredibly out of character. however, i do know the reason why Bellamy only made very few appearances due to Bob Morley’s need for a break due to the online harassment from fans, which ultimately lead to his conclusion. i will never forgive the fandom for that. i think the last episode wasn’t actually bad and although the ending is supposed to be happy, it is quite bittersweet for me. personally, i don’t particularly like choice of our main characters being the last generation on Earth, but that’s just a preference thing. i feel like i’ve been quite cringey but this series actually does mean a lot to me and seeing it end is very upsetting 😭 anyway, thank you if you’ve read this far! a whole series review will come soon ‘may we meet again’
