Quite possibly the cringiest cringe comedy I’ve ever seen, with a lead character whose unlikability gives Rachel Berry a run for her money. But, much like the reality shows it sets out to satirize, The Comeback is like addictive junk food. It’s fun to watch Val fail. Like “Bojack Horseman” or “I Hate Suzie” without the deeper character drama. Just pure fun.
