Bojack Horseman is the greatest animated series of all time in my opinion. This show is fucking incredible. This is also one of the most realistic shows I’ve ever seen as well. This show revolves around Bojack Horseman, who was known for his show in the 90s, but the show focuses on him and his problems and horrible acts which will make you HATE HIM. Then you will love him, and then question why you even had any type of love for him after he does another shitty act! This show takes a DEEP dive into depression, anxiety, drug problems, alcoholism, and so many real life problems. This show is NOT for the weak, this show takes a lot from the viewer to get through some episodes. But if you can get through it, you will be watching one of the greatest shows ever. The show gets so much slack for the first season being pretty meh, but for those who couldn’t finish it? They will NEVER witness the magic that is Bojack Horseman. I haven’t seen a show where the main character is so hate-able, because that is exactly what Bojack is. But in the same breath, you see these glimpses of him being a better person, and you know deep inside he has it in him. But he will never show that. This show even takes a deep DEEP dive in bad parenting and traumatizing childhoods, which this show does with Bojack and even his parent’s backstories. Which is so emotional. This show even dives into sexuality with Todd, who makes the viewers who feel similar feelings feel safe and feel okay when they feel those feelings. Todd is an amazing person. Diane— ugh. I love her so much. She speaks everything wrong in the world to existence, and will speak for what is right. And she is one damn good friend. She has her flaws, but everyone does. The later seasons focus on her depression and medication, but she is a living example of change is okay. Princess Carolyn is so lovely. She is an assistant, then throughout the seasons she becomes an agent. Who stands by BoJack’s side no matter what. The two even dated in the past. Her arc is the BEST. I love her so much, and I’m so glad she ends up being happy, similar to Diane. Mr Peanutbutter is the comic relief character, and he is SO fantastic. He lives his life stress free, and truly lives happily. Which many people wish they could live. He also dated Diane earlier in this show as well. God I wish they would’ve stayed together. This show has so many incredible dynamics, but none even come close to the dynamic that Bojack and Diane have in this show. God, their relationship is so fucking amazing. Their connection is something special, and although they don’t end up together, they didn’t need to. Their friendship is incredible. This is a top 6-7 show for me, and is easily the greatest animated series I’ve ever seen.
