I wasn't excited for this series at first, because I wasn't a huge fan of Rogue One; not that the film was bad or anything, it's that it relied too much on exposition for character development to grow attached to the cast. It did however feel like a continuation of George Lucas's vision for the franchise without trying to be too safe, unlike a few other pieces of Star Wars media recently
The series seems like it'll be more mature and distinct compared to other recent Star Wars shows, where I heard it's going to be more of a political drama and won't focus too heavily on callbacks or cameos, which is SO REFRESHING. While I don't hate Book of Boba or Kenobi as much as other people, they never felt like they were trying to do something new or different with the franchise. I can't wait for this series, but I'm definitely going to be cautiously optimistic about it
