Surprisingly better then I was expecting. It's really a testiment that each episode is like 40 minutes long yet I never felt bored once whilst watching. Fresh meat is about a group of university students living together in a student house. In all honesty, the characters are kind of generic. There's the private school boy J.P, the weirdo Howard, the rebellious girl Vod, the rich girl trying to be something she isn't Oregon amongst others. All these characters are kind of stock archetypes but I still liked them all which is helped by some great performances with Jack Whitehall and Robert Webb being the highest quality out of them all. The show can also be quite funny at times with the geology exam scene in episode 7 making me howl with laughter in particular though the humour can be inconsistant with there being many scenes where I did not laugh once though the characters and their dynamics with one another still kept me engaged and stopped me from reaching for the fast forward button. Fresh meat offers little in the way of innovation with many of the plots and characters being derivative of other works before it though it's so well paced and executed that I can look past it and still really enjoy it.
