High 4 star season, I don't feel like it deserves a 4.5 mainly because of some pacing issues and that fucking time lapse of the sky that plays before every scene.
This show might have some of the best cinematography I've ever seen and not just that it looks amazing but uses that to make every single shot look and feel like the world it's set in and doesn't just move the plot to engage but represents that with how it's shot and doesn't just have some beautiful or oddly positioned shots to capture that. The show obviously takes place in a heightened reality but uses the cinematography and sound to create fear and disgust while showing the most mundane things, and that ability to convey these disgusting emotions in beautiful ways is one thing the show does great.
This show definitely doesn't get enough credit for its soundtrack either and probably has like a top 3 soundtrack oat. It sounds vile and unnerving, and the show isn't afraid to use these techniques as a part of the story and not just an afterthought. So glad they aren't just showing Hannibal killing and setting up the entire ending for will because if they just showed it, it would have been 100 times less impactful than it was.
