The loss Dud and Liz suffered when their dad died in the loss of the people that they were when he was still around. The show largely centers around an esoteric Lodge order and it's weird and silly dressing up in those robes in the 21st century. It features a mystery, but he mystery serves as a vehicle for character arcs. It's a shame it got cancelled because it deserved more time.
