X-Men (1992)
Such a fun adaption that perfectly captures the charm and the dyamic of the X Men. Almost all characters are fairly faithful to their comics minus the writers making Jean a fainting fraud. But seriously, Gambit, Rogue and Beast here are so good! I really like the voicing acting here, really brings a life and puts a voice to these characters. I know I mention them about but Rogue's voice is PERFECT like I feel like I can never imagine another voice again, also Gambit's voice too I just really love these 2. I do have a few issues mainly with the breakneck pacing, it feels like every other episode the X Men are trying to save the extermination of the mutants. Which I understand it's fun to watch and action packed but it really feels like the show hasn't had a moment to slow down and better develop the characters. Hopefully later seasons change that. Another positive in the shows favor is that it doesn't really sugarcoat some of the more mature subjects. Like the handling of Magneto's past I think was fairly explored and another moment that really stood out is how much the show is really doing that parallel to the civil rights movement. There's many moments that show how truly dire the situation is but I think everything with Days Of Future past establishes how bad it can get. Also Mutant Internment Camps is the least subtle thing I've heard A few gripes that I do have is that the animation while mostly great, is so obviously dated in moments. I do really like this show but the way Jean's power look is so bad. I don't blame them, I mean they clearly haven't figured out what to do with her yet. Another negative is that in my opinion there's a lack of focus on Magneto. I understand that they want to deal with other villains instead of using him too early but I really want to see more of him as I think he is really well done in this show. Last issue I have is how dated and kinda bad the dialogue can be at times. Like I do love Storm but please she already has enough corny lines. All in all really strong first season! I can see how this show made people want to check out the X Men
