since i’ve done episode reviews i don’t have much to say other than “wow”. this show was just incredible — the writing, directing, score, camerawork all down to the lighting, just wow. i’ve never seen anything like this before. from a sociopolitical perspective to a psychological one, the commentary behind this show can be dissected in so many different ways. at its core, to myself, the anti-capitalist rhetoric is pretty hard to deny, and it opposes the vision that we are defined by our labor — we are expected to be cogs in the machine, but when we understand our collective oppression as one, we can destroy it from the inside out (ignore me, annoying teenage girl over here). but seriously, this show was just great and i had such a fun time watching, and as much as succession s3 is my Baby Girl, i really truly predict that this will take the drama series win at the emmys this year. i really hate the cliffhanger but DAMN if it doesn’t make you even more involved — here’s to the depression and confusion and anxiety until we get season 2!
